Wrap Up Your Pride (WUYP) Softball Tournament
July 27 & 28

This is a fun, fair play, inclusive, fundraiser tournament for the LGBTQ2+ Community & their Allies to Celebrate Pride in Halifax! This year’s charity will be announced shortly!

Saturday will feature a multi-team round-robin, in which each registered team is guaranteed three games at the Canada Games Diamond, located on the Halifax Commons.

The top five teams, based on record/seeding will advance to the Sunday single-elimination playoff round!

Also, don’t forget that the fabulous annual Dykes vs. Divas Softball game will follow the championship finals on Sunday, July 29.

WRAP UP YOUR PRIDE (WUYP)
Tournament Schedule – July 27 & 28, 2019

Format for the round-robin portion of the WUYP Tournament:
– All ROUND ROBIN games will be SIX INNINGS
Home team will be determined by a pre-game coin flip; the team that wins the flip may choose to bat or take the field first
– All hitter’s counts will start with one ball and one strike; Captains are asked to advise and remind their players – this will help keep the tournament running on time
– All other rules are per standard ECRSA League Play Rules and Regulations

– There will be a 10-run mercy rule in effect after FIVE INNINGS
– There will be a 15-run mercy rule in effect after FOUR INNINGS
– All games MUST start on time; if a team is unable to field a group within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, they will forfeit the game with a 6-0 run differential
– If a game is tied after SIX INNINGS it ends as a tie
– The 6th, 7th, and 8th seeded teams will NOT qualify for the Sunday playoff round
– When determining playoff teams, tie breaker sequence is, in order: total wins, head-to-head, total run differential, most runs for, coin flip

 

Sunday, July 29 – PLAYOFF ROUND

Format for the PLAYOFF portion of the Year-End Tournament:
– All games will be SEVEN INNINGS
– All hitter’s counts will start with one ball and one strike; Captains are asked to advise and remind their players – this will help keep the tournament running on time

– There will be a 10-run mercy rule in effect after FIVE INNINGS
– There will be a 15-run mercy rule in effect after FOUR INNINGS
– All games MUST start on time; if a team is unable to field a group within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, they will forfeit the game

8 a.m.                   PLAY-IN GAME –  Seed 4 (H) vs Seed 5

9:15 a.m.             SEMI-FINAL 1 – Seed 2 (H) vs Seed 3

10:30 a.m.          SEMI-FINAL 2 – Seed 1 (H) vs Winner of Seed 4/5

11:45 a.m.              FINALS — WINNER SEMI 1 vs WINNER SEMI 2 (High seeded team gets home game)
